This book is dense in it's prose. It's almost Who-vian. Actually it may very well and purposefully Who-vian so if you like Dr Who and music this may very well be a book for you!

What Travis Baldree started in Legends & Lattes he perfected in Bookshops & Bonedust. It's cozy sure. But it's also a great journey that most can relate to. I dare you to read this and not ruminate on your own journey to discovering a love for reading.
It's about as cozy as cozy gets. It reads like a Dungeons and Dragons campaign where everyone has so much fun roleplaying as their characters, they forgot to delve into the dungeon. If you like kind characters and good writing and don't mind a low stakes journey, or that sounds good to you, Legends & Lattes would love to live rent free in your head.
Perhaps over the years you've been curious about Stephen King. Maybe you've even heard not all his books are horror and want to go down a windy twisty road of what if / time travel. Then this book could just be where you find out what the big deal is about Stephen King. It's a departure from his normal genre work with the benefit of his prolific writing skills. It certainly has that addicting "one more chapter" draw to pull you further and further into it's story.

This book is adored for a reason. Like all Becky Chambers books it has wonderful and subtle worldbuilding. But the characters, oh goodness, the characters. This author just writes some of the most compelling characters without needing outright drama. I would consider this "cozy" adjacent rather than a bullseye in the cozy genre. Best paired with your favorite weather and a cup of tea (or coffee and you can pretend it's tea). You'll get that after you read it. Are you still reading it yet? I'm waiting.
In a world of Sanderson, Tolkien, Abercombie, and Hobb this books stands out. It has worldbuilding. It has a war with goblins. It's dark but with endearing characters. Yet it isn't like any of those authors. It's well paced and an enjoyable read. A great book to potentially get you out of a reading slump as it's so kinetic. This book reads easy and might just find a place of honor on your bookshelf.

A sapphic fantasy with noir elements set in our world but magic. Fans of Chacraborty might want to take a look at this. As the stakes and scale increase, I am willing to be you'll be glued to the page.
The best gothic romantasy I have read in a long time. The story, the character development, the world, and the absolute bonkers cliff hanger? This solidified Rachel Gillig as an instant buy author for me. Whatever she writes, I am here for it.

This book was a splash for a reason. If you haven’t picked it up and read it yet, oh how I envy you. It’s a rare non fiction that reads so cinematically and just…please do me a favor and read it.
This book took me completely by surprise. It was certainly off the path of my normal genre blend. But from the early pages to the end I was completely engaged and along for the ride. It’s a book that taught me some things I still think of often.
