Wishlist Help
Your Book Nook wishlist lets you save books you want, organize them into separate lists, and share a list with friends or family so they can shop for you.
What is a wishlist?
A wishlist is a place to save books you want to remember, buy later, or share with others. You can create multiple wishlists for different purposes, such as:
- Birthday list
- Holiday gift ideas
- Teacher Classroom Libraries
- Book club picks
- Kids’ reading list
- Personal reading goals
How to create a wishlist
- Go to your Wishlist page.
- Enter a name for your new wishlist.
- Click Create wishlist.
Your existing heart/favorite actions will continue to save books to your default wishlist unless you move them into another list later.
How to add books
You can add books to your wishlist by selecting the heart icon on book listings or book detail pages.
Books added this way will go to your current default wishlist.
How to manage a wishlist
From your Wishlist page, click Manage next to any list.
On the manage page, you can:
- Rename the wishlist
- Set it as your default wishlist
- Archive it
- View the share link
- Update requested quantities
- Move books to another wishlist
- Copy books to another wishlist
- Remove books from that wishlist
What does requested, purchased, and remaining mean?
Each book on a shared wishlist tracks gift progress:
- Requested: how many copies you want
- Purchased: how many copies have already been bought from that wishlist
- Remaining: how many copies are still needed
Example:
If you request 2 copies and 1 has already been purchased, the list will show:
- Requested: 2
- Purchased: 1
- Remaining: 1
How to share a wishlist
Each wishlist has its own private share link.
To share:
- Open the wishlist’s Manage page
- Find the Share URL
- Copy and send that link to friends or family
Anyone with the link can view that wishlist.
How shared wishlist shopping works
When someone opens your shared wishlist, they can see:
- the wishlist name
- the books on the list
- how many are still needed
If a book is available for purchase online, they can add it to cart directly from the shared wishlist.
Purchased quantities update after checkout is completed.
Why a book may not be purchasable from the shared wishlist
Sometimes a book may appear on the wishlist but not be available to buy online right now. This usually means the title is not currently available for online ordering.
If that happens, the page may direct the customer to contact the store.
What happens after someone buys from my wishlist?
Once checkout is successfully completed:
- the wishlist updates the purchased count
- the remaining count is reduced
- order details can note which wishlist and person the item was purchased for
Default wishlist vs other wishlists
Your default wishlist is the one used when you save a book with the heart icon.
You can still create and manage other wishlists for different occasions, but quick-add actions will go to the default list unless you later move the book.
Archived wishlists
If you no longer need a wishlist, you can archive it. Archiving helps keep your active wishlist area organized.
Archived wishlists are no longer treated as active shared lists.
