The Faraway Inn has all the charm that we have come to expect from Sarah Beth Durst, but this book is geared to a YA audience. The main character is a high school girl named Calisa with high school girl problems, and she escapes them for the summer with the help of her quirky and cranky Auntie Zee at her run-down bed and breakfast in the country. The groundskeeper's son and other sweet characters give her new energy and a fresh purpose. High school was rough for a lot of us, but Calisa finds refuge and hope in a magical place, and I love that for her.
